D&D 8C 是在 TUDELFT*(荷蘭代爾夫特理工大學)的消聲室中測量。

HF (高頻):

1英寸流體鐵磁增強型鋁鎂合金高音單元,加上巨型8英寸恆定指向聲波導向器。極為優化的聲波導向器,擋板尺寸和擋板邊緣圓角彎度設計,是經過深入研究,3D打印及反復測量而成,其頻率響應在軸上和軸外幾乎完全一樣。生產時使用堅硬而輕盈的ABS倒模擋板,在整個可聽範圍內完全沒有共振。

LF(低頻):

8英寸低音單元有一個輕量但剛性聚丙烯編織錐體。其先進高阻尼的內部環繞設計可抑制低音單元工作範圍內的共振。在低音單元鋁製成型件上纏繞的長音圈,提供高功率處理和低熱度壓縮。獨特的無源心形指向音箱設計,可減弱不良向後反射達15dB以上的! 因此8C從而降低房間及喇叭自身發出混合的迴響,並在功率響應方面達至非常平衡。這種革命性的獨特無源心形指向箱體設計提供了從100Hz向上的恆定指向性。因此,8c具有無比卓越的中性,精確度和房間效應平衡。

Sub(超低音):

8C超低音是在後面密封的機櫃內,裝有兩個長衝程,高功率的8“超低音單元。低Q程校對發出緊湊,可控制和伸展的低音。這長衝程超低音是由DSP控制,發出可以向前反射的超低音。Dutch & Dutch 使用喇叭向後牆發射與後牆作為一個虛擬反射跳板。因此,喇叭和後牆壁並不必去處理反射,而是形成喇叭的一個系統結合,以半球的形式創建一個連貫的聲波導向面,並朝向聆聽者位置向前發射。這個概念背後的想法來自於著名聲學研究員和喇叭設計師Roy Allison(1927年 – 2016年3月1日)在 Acoustic Research 工作期間,想出了將低音低音放置在靠近房間邊界的位置,以實現更好的喇叭及房間反射的虛擬接合Allison Approach。D&D認為這是一種非常聰明的方法,並且經過深入研究,開發與現代精密DSP科技結合,達到理論上完美無瑕目標。

Dutch & Dutch (D&D) is a company of engineers and music lovers. Their products have done in depth groundbreaking in research with straight forward engineering mindset for music lovers and engineers. It is our great honour to present Dutch & Dutch 8C music playback system.

1) Frequency responses: 20Hz – 20,000Hz (+/-1dB). A truly full range audio system. 

Dutch & Dutch 8C is measured in the anechoic chamber at the TUDELFT* (Delft University of Technology). 

2) Phase responses: timing is as important as amplitude response.

D&D 8C combines the stable, precision DSP (digital signal processing) on crossover design (100Hz and 1250Hz, 4th order Linkwitz-Riley filter slopes). FIR filtering ensures high power handling and perfect impulse response. Multiple d/a converters built in after the DSP crossover. 

3) Listen to the speaker, not the room. 

D&D 8C has an unique passive cardioid LF cabinet design provides constant directivity from 100Hz upward. The loudspeaker sounds as they were designed without interferences 

4) It’s not just a speaker or active speakers, it is a complete audio system. 

D&D 8C has AES/EBU, analogue XLR inputs and LAN connection for its own Clark™ web based remote control setting. The LAN (RJ45) is in development for Roon® ready software, which is in beta status. Dutch & Dutch 8C is built in DAC, amplifiers and digital audio streamer all in one.  

HF (High Frequency)

With its ferrofluid–enhanced 1” aluminium-magnesium alloy dome tweeter is coupled to an 8” constant directivity waveguide. Thanks to extensive optimization of the waveguide, baffle dimensions and baffle edge roundovers, its frequency response is virtually at, both on and off axis. The stiff and light membrane is resonance-free throughout the audible range.

LF (Low Frequency) 

8” woofer has a light, stiff woven polypropylene cone. Its high internal damping and advanced surround design suppress resonances in the woofer’s operating range. The long voice coil is wound on an aluminium former, providing high power handling and low thermal compression. The unique passive cardioid cabinet weakens rearward radiation by over 15 dB, resulting in low reverberation and very flat at power response.  This revolutionary cabinet design which provides constant directivity from 100 Hz upwards. As a result, the 8c offers exceptional neutrality, precision, and in-room tonal balance.

Sub (Subwoofers):

The rear section of the cabinet houses two long- stroke, high-power 8″ subwoofer drivers in a sealed cabinet. The low-Q alignment results in tight, controlled, and extended bass. These are DSP controlled subwoofers which uses the front wall reflection. Dutch & Dutch design uses the wall behind the speaker as a virtual springboard. So, rather than having to deal with a reflection, the speaker and the wall form a system to create a coherent wave front in the form of a hemisphere which radiates forward towards the listening position. The team behind the concept are not ashamed to say that they feel very much as though they are standing on the shoulders of giants. The idea came from what is being called the Allison Approach. Acoustics researcher and speaker designer Roy Allison (1927- March 1, 2016) worked at loudspeaker giant Acoustic Research during their glory days. He came up with the idea of placing bass drivers close to room boundaries for better loudspeaker-room interfacing. D&D felt that this was a very smart approach to develop and a principle that works really well, in combination of precision DSP.
